Not me but someone I went to school with was on Millionaire. He was an absolute arsehole. Petty criminal and generally just a really nasty piece of work. He used all his lifelines and walked away with £500, which I believe he had to hand back on the basis that he lied on his application. Not sure what he lied about but he was up in court for something at the time., The headline of the local paper read "Who Wants to be a Mug on Air"!

My wife was on Tenable and her team very well on it. It’s strange when it’s repeated and someone we’ve not seen for ages oh was she on Tenable…..

Re: Anyone on here ever been on a TV quiz?
I was on the pilot show for Give Us a Break (the Snooker themed game show hosted by Jim Davidson and John Virgo)

It came about as a MATE of mine who writes advertising jingles got himself a new studio which was in the basement of an old church in St John's Wood, he didn't know what to do with the upstairs bit (i.e. where the pews were) so I told him to (obviously) put a snooker table in there, which he did.

Because of the circles he moved in some TV bods got in touch with him and said can we film a pilot for a snooker themed quiz at your place? He told me and there I was

The format was quite different from the eventual show, Roy Walker was the host and the Pro was Ray Reardon

I won the show (the questions were piss easy), afterwards I got to play Ray (who had brought his own balls!)

It was just a single frame bit of fun and Ray was very genial up until I strung a reasonable break together within which I did a couple of doubles, Ray got mega pissed of and collected up his balls and stormed off!

I did Only Connect.
Played 2, lost 2.

1st game sec against the eventual champions (2 previous finalists and a University Challenge champ). We were a point behind all the way to the missing vowels, when one of them had a crazy-good round and we ended up a long way adrift.

2nd game was after lunch and we were a bit punch-drunk. Missed a couple we should definitely have got, talked ourselves out of one and ended up in a tie. I lost the tie-breaker.
Gutting.

No, but my dad has been on pointless and eggheads. Auditioned for mastermind but one of his specialist subjects had been done already.

A mate in my pub quiz team finished Top of the Finals board in a series of Fifteen to One. He lost out in the Grand Final by 1 point for £40,000, on the final question.

Re: Anyone on here ever been on a TV quiz?
I was on a short-lived Sky One quiz show called Dirty Money. Hosted (off screen) by Marcus Bentley, the voice of Big Brother.

I was leading after the first round and then a Manc bloke used the format to steal all my money in the second round. He'd been on quiz shows before and knew the key tactic of trusting you know the answer and buzzing before you think of it. There wasn't a question I couldn't have answered on the whole show, but it all came down to hitting the buzzer first.

The same production company asked me to be reserve contestant on In It To Win It a few months later. That was very different and involved a chainsmoking Dale Winton, having a row with the warm up guy at TV Centre and the odd behaviour of Dale's biggest fan... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp5vPf8H3mo
